AMPC Spotlight event showcases the latest safety innovations

Red meat processors and safety experts from around Australia recently gathered in Melbourne for the Australian Meat Processor Corporation’s (AMPC) Safety Spotlight event.

The Safety Spotlight was held from 25 – 26 March and explored the latest safety and wellbeing research. Attendees experienced cutting-edge safety innovations and technologies showcased by leading research and development providers.

The impressive lineup of presenters covered topics such as psychosocial safety, employee mental health and well-being, shadow robotics, innovative injury management, and exoskeletal technologies. Keynote speakers Cyril Peupion and Kate Munari captivated attendees with their insights on time management, leadership, and mindset.

Attendees also participated in an interactive mock trial with FCW Lawyers to better understand psychosocial legislation and how it impacts workplaces. Across the two days, research providers delivered presentations on the latest outcomes from AMPC research and development investments.

AMPC Program Manager People and Culture Amanda Carter said, “Processors and research and development providers were also recognised for their innovative safety programs, product developments, and initiatives at the AMPC Safety Awards dinner.”

“The awards covered a range of areas, including safety implementation, in-house design, cultural initiatives, safety products and devices.

“The Highgate Group was awarded the people’s choice award following their presentation on robot knife sharpening.

“AMPC would like to congratulate all the winners.”
