Facilitate four workshops to provide guidance and training on US STEC testing requirements and HACCP responsibilities

20 February 2025
Focus area: Market access
Program stream: Technical market access & markets
Project number: 2025-1055
The project improved the understanding of Australian meat exporters regarding the control of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) and the implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) systems to meet US import standards. Seminars were held across four states and engaged over 100 participants, with more than half committing to refining their HACCP and STEC management practices. This benefits the industry by strengthening compliance with US regulations, reducing the risk of export rejections, and ensuring smoother trade negotiations between Australia and the US.

Videos of the presentations, copies of presentation slides, and the Question and Answer document are available to download.
