Electric stunning box for beef

AMPC worked with an Australian red meat processing plant to support the installation and testing of an electrical stunning system in an existing knocking box that considered safety, animal welfare, and compliance with animal welfare regulations. 

The trials were successful. Operator safety was improved through the integration of advanced controls and interlocks. Animal stress was reduced by automating the activation of cylinders and components of the knocking. 

The data logging capabilities of the system were implemented, allowing the plant to collect and analyse stunning data which will support future monitoring, auditing, and continuous improvement.
