Independent evaluation of the Innovation Manager Program
This project has reviewed AMPC’s Innovation Manager (IM) Program.
The evaluation involved a review of documents associated with the program, an online survey of participating IMs and their managers, interviews with 20 IMs and senior managers of both participating companies and non-participating companies, and a scan of comparable programs in Australia and overseas.
An update of a 2022 benefit-cost analysis for the program by GHD was also undertaken.
The review has found that the IM Program is very well regarded by participating companies and especially by IMs. There is considerable self-reported evidence that the program is achieving its aims of fostering an innovative culture within companies and improving the flow of information within and between processors, and between processors and AMPC. The program is also helping to develop emerging leaders in the industry by developing knowledge, skills, an innovative mindset and confidence.
