AMPC’s chemical engineer a finalist in Young Achiever Awards

AMPC's Koentadi Hadinoto, Project Officer Advanced Manufacturing, has been selected as a finalist in two categories of the prestigious 2026 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards NSW/ACT.

He is in the running for the Konica Minolta Career Achievement Award and also the Symal Innovation Award.

Dr Hadinoto is a chemical engineer whose career has quickly progressed from First-Class Honours to industry-shaping innovation. During his University of NSW PhD, supported by AMPC, he worked on advancing technologies to improve meat safety and processing efficiency.

Dr Hadinoto is passionate about integrating emerging technologies, optimising processes and improving safety and productivity outcomes. He is particularly focused on fostering collaboration to deliver forward-thinking solutions across the red meat industry.

"What I love most about my work at AMPC is that I am always learning," Dr Hadinoto said.

"My PhD taught me to stay curious and keep asking questions and at AMPC I get to apply that mindset to real industry challenges. I enjoy being involved in projects that bring technology providers and industry partners together to help move good ideas toward practical outcomes for industry."

Dr Hadinoto is currently supporting a range of AMPC projects across automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, sensing and advanced manufacturing. They cover different parts of the processing chain from the harvest floor through to the boning room and packaging.

"Much of this work is focused on understanding how emerging technologies can be developed, trialled and applied in real processing environments, not just as concepts," Dr Hadinoto said.

"This includes supporting projects involving technology providers and industry partners to develop and evaluate automated deboning and cutting solutions for beef and lamb processing.

"I am also involved in work that looks at how AMPC-invested technologies perform in production environments and how they are adopted by processors, including capturing insights in a more structured way to support confidence, uptake and future investment decisions."

The winners of the Young Achiever Awards will be announced at a gala ceremony in Sydney on July 24.
