AMPC's Amanda Carter wins Meat Business Women Award
AMPC's Manager of People and Culture Amanda Carter has taken out the prestigious 2026 Meat Business Woman of the Year Award, which recognises women whose leadership, influence and long-term contribution are creating meaningful impact across Australia's meat and food sector.
The award was presented at an MBW event in Melbourne this week in front of more than 150 industry leaders.
The other major award, the 2026 One to Watch went to Lisa Lopez, Head of Technical at Harvest Road.
Amanda was recognised for her unwavering commitment to developing people, strengthening workforce capability and creating pathways for the next generation of industry leaders.
Judges said her work has helped shape initiatives that improve attraction, retention, leadership development and workplace culture across the red meat processing sector.
The award is supported by Bott Insurance Group.
Ms Carter paid tribute to the many talented people she works alongside throughout the red meat processing industry.
"Building a stronger industry has always been about investing in people, creating opportunities and helping others succeed, and I'm incredibly proud to be part of an industry that values that work," she said.
Being in contact with so many people in the industry, and people from diverse parts of it, means she is somewhat of a conduit for collaboration. It also gives her a comprehensive view of the challenges being faced, and the possible solutions, and how the two can be brought together.
She says answers so often come from the ability to combine minds and resources and bounce ideas off each other.
Meat Business Women Australia Chair Stacey McKenna said the calibre of nominations in the awards continued to demonstrate the depth of talent across Australia's meat and food supply chain.
"Lisa and Amanda represent the leadership our industry needs for the future. They have each created meaningful impact in different ways, whether through innovation, developing people or leading positive change within their organisations," she said.
