Deep learning vision for box label and red meat cut identification (1)
This project has successfully developed the first off‑the‑shelf deep learning smart camera system for red meat label and meat cut and primal inspections. Utilising AI, the example‑based deep‑learning algorithms can make more human‑like decisions for difficult vision tasks that the traditional rule‑based algorithms can’t manage. This vision system has been named Deep Vision.
Deep Vision outperforms existing inspection systems, achieving extremely low false‑positive rates and handling a wide range of labels and meat cuts with high accuracy. Its streamlined hardware, touch‑screen interface, audit logging, and secure reject mechanism support reliable operation and lower overall system costs.
By combining deep learning with smart‑camera technology, Deep Vision delivers high‑end performance normally associated with far more expensive PC‑based solutions. It offers processors a flexible, cost‑effective way to improve product quality, reduce errors, and meet export‑ready packaging requirements.
