Services and waste insights, reduction and optimisation innovation (Stage 1)

20 April 2023
Focus area: Water
Program stream: Sustainability
Project number: 2021-1207
AMPC worked with an Australian red meat processing plant to install digital water meters on all critical water services to identify leakages and/or waste that may be occurring.

As part of the project, water metres were installed to capture water usage. The data collected will help determine ways to reduce wastage and optimise the use of water services across the processing facility.

At the start of the trial, the plant was using approximately 4,800,000 litres of water per week. There has been an average total plant consumption reduction of 10-15 per cent during the project.
