Smallstock traceability pilot studies (WA plant)

12 May 2023
Focus area: Traceability & integrity systems
Program stream: Product & process integrity
Project number: 2022-1129
This research included a series of pilot studies to examine the benefits of electronic Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) readers in sheep processing plants, outside of Victoria.

As part of this project, a Western Australia-based sheep processing plant was provided funding to install a single walk through RFID reader and the associated infrastructure.

The installation of the RFID system was a success. The new system eliminated a lot of the manual data enter that was once required.
