03 August 2023
Focus area: Traceability & integrity systems
Program stream: Product & process integrity
Project number: 2022-1129

Funded by the AMIC and AMPC, these pilot studies examined the benefits of electronic Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) readers in sheep processing establishments outside of Victoria.

The pilot studies aimed to create a better understanding of the additional benefits of RFIDs outside of NLIS compliance, including aspects such as supply chain integrity, provenance claims, and carcase yield feedback to producers. The purchase and installation cost of the technology and software was also financed as part of the pilot studies.
