30 May 2023
Focus area: Safety & wellbeing
Program stream: People & culture
Project number: 2020-1088
This project aimed to evaluate a Queensland based processing plant’s operations and inputs to better understand cost drivers and revenue areas. It used this information to determine breakeven and to identify areas to improve efficiencies.

As part of the research, the processing plant reviewed operational processes, staffing, work force capacity, and facility upgrades in three areas of the plant including harvest, boning, and loadout.

Using the results of the research, the plant updated operation processes, developed tools for planning operations, and established a continuous improvement program.
