This project looked at a new approach to managing wastewater and organic wastes at red meat processing plants with the development of bio-resource recovery centres. 

As part of the project, designs for two bio-resource recovery centres were developed and feasibility trials were conducted to determine the financial viability and performance concerning waste management, energy production, CO2 recovery, biofertiliser production and reduced carbon footprint.
