IMF of primals – end of processing line measurement using NMR - stage 2

29 June 2022
Focus area: Carcase primal profitability optimisation
Program stream: Advanced manufacturing
Project number: 2021-1264
AMPC partnered with inMR Measure to trial a magnetic resonance sensor to conduct intramuscular fat measurements (IMF) of sub-primal cuts in a beef boning room.

This project was a continuation of bovine IMF measurement trials that investigated what was needed to adapt a magnetic resonance sensor designed for lamb and beef.

The Marbl™ sensor showed that IMF measurements are achievable and can be repeated and reproduced.
