Beef carcass orientation control study

29 November 2021
Focus area: Hands-off processing
Program stream: Advanced manufacturing
Project number: 2021-1221
AMPC partnered with Intelligent Robotics (IR) to develop a concept to enable orientation of a beef carcase whilst maintaining control of the final position when hanging.

Trials of the concept were performed to prove the feasibility and functionality of the solution in a red meat processing environment.

It was determined that the turning mechanism concept was sufficient for common carcase shapes when at a fixed height.
