AGVs (with optional integrated collaborative robots) - stage 2

30 June 2022
Focus area: Hands-off processing
Program stream: Advanced manufacturing
Project number: 2021-1239
AMPC partnered with the University of Adelaide to investigate potential application scenarios in which autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) can be used to support the Australian red meat processing industry.

Based on the project findings, the University of Adelaide suggested using existing conventional development/systems for using forklift AGVs for loading and stacking pallets and self-guided AGVs for handling material in existing facilities.

It is recommended that there should be further investigation of the use of AGVs implemented with tools for additional functions including collaborative robot integrated AGVs, and fully/semi-autonomous facility cleaning AGVs.
