Economic benefit of red meat processing in regional Australia
AMPC, working together with AMIC, has commissioned an important project to evaluate the socio-economic benefit of the red meat processing industry by state and territory and for Australia as a whole.
This project, which will update an AMPC project undertaken two years ago, will provide up to date information on the economic contribution of our sector including employment data. This information is extremely important for the red meat industry and governments to help inform policy decisions, particularly with respect to the current global economic environment.
AMPC has commissioned SG Heilbron Economic & Policy Consulting to undertake the project and has prepared a template for your company to complete. You can complete one template if your company’s facilities are in one state. However, if you operate facilities in more than one state, please provide the data separately for each state.
As this project incorporates sensitive data from our sector, we understand that confidentiality is paramount. All data collected from processors will be aggregated to preclude the identification of any individual facility or processor in the report. In addition, to further protect confidentiality, AMPC (& other parties) will not be privy to any individual processor data. The consultants are also willing to sign individual Non-Disclosure Agreements if required.
Please contact the consultants directly if you have any questions.

AMPC thanks you for your support of this project which is important in helping our sector communicate to a wide range of stakeholders our significant contribution to our state and national economy as well as provide important data to policymakers.
Please return completed templates to the consultants.
