Combating the process heat challenge for red meat processors
The Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) is proud to be a gold sponsor of the 2025 Renewable Heat Conference, taking place from 26–27 August in Sydney.
This national event serves as a key platform for industries to explore practical, large-scale solutions to decarbonise process heat, one of the most challenging areas to make renewable in the red meat processing industry.
AMPC Program Manager Matthew Deegan said, “Process heat is one of the most complex energy challenges in the red meat processing industry. Transitioning to renewable sources requires significant innovation and integrated change across processing facilities.”
“We’ve partnered with this event because it brings together leading experts, solution providers, and other industries to share ideas, technologies, and strategies that can help red meat processors combat this challenge.
“By supporting this conference, AMPC is ensuring our industry is part of national conversations about renewable process heat and is exposed to the latest developments that can be adopted at the plant level.”
This conference offers processors a unique opportunity to:
- Expand their knowledge of renewable energy and process heat systems
- Discover new and emerging technologies such as heat pumps, mechanical vapour recompression (MVR), biogas, biomass, and thermal energy storage
- Learn from real-world case studies on successful industrial electrification and decarbonisation
- Engage directly with solution providers, researchers, and policymakers
- Explore funding pathways and government incentives to support renewable heat transitions.
Matthew said, “Sponsoring this event is part of AMPC’s broader investment in environmental performance. Through partnerships, pilot programs, and support for emerging technologies, including heat recovery, heat pumps, and anaerobic co-digestion, we continue to support the industry to decarbonise.”
About the event
The Renewable Heat Conference brings together over 300 attendees, including industrial energy users, technology suppliers, regulators, consultants, and academics. With two full days of expert speakers, technical sessions, and networking opportunities, it offers valuable insights for processors of all sizes, whether they are just starting their energy transition journey or looking to scale up proven technologies.
The red meat processing industry’s largest biomass investment will be showcased at the event, along with updates on other AMPC-funded projects, including thermal storage and funding bioenergy through the Emissions Reduction Fund.
