AMPC set to launch revamped grants helpline

Phase two of the AMPC Helpline is set to launch in August 2024. Phone lines will be open to registered small and medium-sized red meat processors to help with understanding and applying for energy and environment governments grants.

Through the helpline, processors will be able to access guidance and support from environmental and energy consultants, Northmore Gordon.

AMPC Program Manager Matthew Deegan said, “The AMPC Helpline was renewed for a second round following positive feedback and requests from industry.

“The first phase of the helpline supported 33 processing sites and resulted in over 1.3 million in approved external grants.”

“Support for processors ranged from Emission Reduction Fund eligibility and registration to individual state and federal grant applications. Complimentary guidance was also given across energy monitoring, efficiency, and resource productivity.”

Improvements to the service were implemented, and processors can now access additional help on general decarbonisation strategies, case studies, and tools.

Processors can register to stay informed about the latest state and federal grants from Northmore Gordon while a text message system has been set up to send out alerts about relevant grants.

Matthew said, “AMPC’s investment will help facilitate adoption of processes and technologies to enhance members capability to meet future sustainability goals and increase innovation across the red meat processing industry.”
