The Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Edwina Toohey to the role of Interim CEO, effective Monday, 3 March 2025.
Edwina steps into this role following the departure of Chris Taylor, stepping down as CEO in February. Chris joined the organisation in 2016 and has served as CEO since 2019. The AMPC Board thanks Chris for his leadership and wishes him the best for his next chapter.
Currently serving as General Manager of Research, Development and Adoption, Edwina brings extensive experience in R&D and deep industry knowledge, particularly within the red meat processing sector.
Since joining AMPC in June 2023, she has successfully led the organisation’s research and development function, ensuring impactful outcomes for industry stakeholders.
Prior to her appointment to AMPC, Edwina spent five years overseeing R&D programs at the NSW Department of Primary Industries, overseeing critical research programs and working closely with the red meat industry, including processors.
AMPC Chair, Melissa Fletcher, welcomed Edwina’s appointment. She said, “Edwina brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our industry. Her leadership in R&D has been instrumental in delivering value to our members, and we are confident she will provide strong guidance during this transition period. The Board looks forward to working with her as we continue driving innovation and growth for the sector.”
Edwina’s appointment ensures continuity and stability as AMPC moves forward with an exciting new five-year strategy, set to be released later in 2025.
The Board will soon commence the search for a permanent CEO.
